Monday.COME "Egypt: Beyond Pyramids and Sphinx"
One month ago, Egypt was merely a place of pyramids, Great Sphinx, and Abu Simbel Temple to many HK people. We were taken by surprise when huge and sometimes violent protests erupted in Egypt. A million Egyptians marched to demand Mubarak to step down. While some think that this is an extension of the recent Jasmine Revolution initiated in Tunisia, others argue that it is caused by structural factors from within. Ms. Susanna Chui-yung Cheung, a renowned journalist and war correspondent, will share with us her analysis of the situation and background.
