Monday.COME "Is Psychological Warfare in Politics the Key to Success? Or the Road to Failure?"

events-2013-04-005

At the beginning of Donald Tsang's time as Chief Executive, the government emphasized the mastery of public opinion, psychological warfare and spinning. But as the popularity figures continued to drop and more and more people began to hit the streets, Hong Kong's governance crisis has become serious than ever. Now only a few months into the CY Leung government, we already find ourselves in a time charged with scandals, demonstrations and conflicts in the Legislative Council.

Lau Sai Leung has been moving about political parties, the media and the government, and was once an important advisor to the Democratic Party and the Chief Executive at different times. How does Lau view the government's mastery of public opinion and the media? What has gone wrong with the government's psychological warfare?
