Undergraduate students covered national events in Beijing

Five undergraduate students from the School participated in an internship scheme organized by the Journalism Education Foundation (JEF) to cover the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and their related activities in Beijing from 2 to 8 March 2009. These five students were accompanied by Prof. Clement So, the School Director and Secretary of the JEF, who provided necessary guidance to them in the internship.

The students commented that it was a wonderful experience as they could attend and report on such a big event first-hand. Their understanding of the operations of the National People's Congress and the news media was also enhanced.

Other participants in the activity include 15 journalism students and 3 teachers from the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
