School of Journalism and Communication, CUHK - Upgrade and Improvement of Professional Facilities

Upgrade and Improvement of Professional Facilities

In view of the growing student body and advancement of digital technology, recently the School upgraded its Television Studio and Radio Studio in Ch'ien Mu Library Building.

All equipment in the Television Studio and Radio Studio has been upgraded to full HD. A powerful studio server system was installed to offer convenience and flexibility from ingest to playout, and a new central storage system was developed to facilitate collaborative production, peer learning and archival of student works. The space on the second floor of Ch'ien Mu Library Building has been re-allocated and converted into a Creative Hub with more than 10 workstations for HD editing and high-end multimedia post-production. A screening room was built and equipped with all necessary AV facilities for movie viewing. The total expenditure for this large-scale renovation and upgrade is over $10 million. All equipment and professional facilities are open for use from now on.

The School strives to create an education environment that is conducive to effective teaching and learning, and the cultivation of creativity. We hope you all enjoy and make good use of our facilities.
