Undergraduate students won the “Best Social Mission” prize in the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge 2012
Leftover (豐剩衛食兵團), a group of undergraduate students from the Pinpoint practicum, has won in the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC) 2012 and was awarded the "Best Social Mission" prize in the Grand Final. The team consists of five members and four are our major students. Congratulations to Amy Lui, Bonnie Tang, Ka Ki Wong, Leticia Wong! Prof. Donna Chu served as their consultant.
HKSEC, organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the first and only inter-collegiate social venture business competition in Hong Kong, helps turn creative business ideas into meaningful and sustainable commercial ventures that promote social good. Each member of the winning team is awarded a prize of HK$48,000 for the implementation of their business plan.
In 2012, 224 teams from 24 universities and tertiary institutions have entered the competition. It is indeed an impressive achievement and the School hopes that our students can carry on the good work and their strong social mission.
